Mark: Authority and the Sabbath

Whose authority do we recognize and why?  In Mark 2:23-28, Jesus shows his authority over the Sabbath by taking the title Lord of the Sabbath.  But what does that mean and why did it make the Pharisees so upset?  And where can we truly find rest for our souls?
